Everybody needs to look after their health and so we’ve launched our #BeSelfish campaign where we make it acceptable to take your ‘Me Time’ and look after yourself.
Taking time out for yourself can often seem selfish, especially when you have other commitments, like spending time with your family, playing with your kids on an evening, and making sure you’re going above and beyond at work to make sure Payday comes!
HOWEVER, did you know that in a survey 38% of adults reported eating or overeating in the past month as a means to deal with or avoid stress?
I know I’ve certainly overeaten when I’ve felt worried or stressed, and unfortunately our hectic lives can be to blame for this!
BUT looking after your HEALTH should never be selfish.
Do you ever feel:
- Like you struggle sleeping (either falling asleep or waking up and not being able to get back to sleep),
- Like you can’t always focus and lack concentration,
- Stressed at home or work,
- Like you’re eating when you’re not even hungry.
If you answered YES to any of those, then you need to take some ‘Me Time’.
If you live with stress long term, it has been linked to worsening or increasing the risk of conditions like obesity, heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, depression, gastrointestinal problems, and asthma.
So now tell me taking your ‘Me Time’ is selfish?!
Just 10 minutes a day can improve your health – and everyone can find 10 minutes for their health!
